            JASPER, GA - The faculty and staff of Mountain Laurel Academy (MLA) are excited to kick off their fourth year serving the creative and gifted learners from the Pickens County area. With graduates already very successful in colleges all over the US, as well as graduates setting the business world on fire, Mountain Laurel Academy could not be more excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year. MLA invites anyone interested in learning more about “classical education with a twist” to a special Open House, August 20^th from 4-7 pm. The school welcomes all families with a student who may flourish in a smaller environment to come and tour their facility. Scholarships are available and sponsorships for students in need are always welcomed. Mountain Laurel Academy is located at 929 Cove. Rd, Jasper, GA 30143.
 
Mountain Laurel Academy is a non-profit, non-traditional, private learning center for grades 5-12 dedicated to serving the local community. Mountain Laurel Academy’s mission is to provide the surrounding communities with an alternative to traditional educational options.They strive to offer an academically challenging curriculum to students who are educationally focused but who are not being well served in a larger-school environment and/or who need an option to traditional homeschooling. This is achieved in a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment with an emphasis on critical thinking, independent study and accountability.  
            
Mountain Laurel Academy believes that this approach truly prepares students for the rigors of college study. The only requirement is that students are motivated and eager to learn and that families will support them in MLA’s unique learning environment.
 
Located in Jasper, Ga., Mountain Laurel Academy is convenient to families in Pickens, Dawson, Gilmer, Cherokee, Forsyth and Lumpkin counties.
